Opa-Opa is the main protagonist character in the Fantasy Zone series. Being the main protagonist of Sega's first mascot, he made cameo appearances in many other Sega games.
Appearance[]
Opa-Opa is a sentient spacecraft with a blue visor for his face. In Red Photon Zillion he has white eyes. His bottom is green with red on the back. Also, he has little yellow feet.
History[]
In the year 6216, or 1422 in the arcade version, the Space Guild reveals the plans of the planet Menon, whose forces are stealing the other planets' currencies to fund a huge fortress in the Fantasy Zone. Opa-Opa is sent to the Menon system after they stole supplies from other systems. It is revealed that Opa-Opa's father, O-Papa, is the leader of Menon.
Fantasy Zone II[]
This time, it is figured out that Opa-Opa's bad side, Dark Opa-Opa, is the mastermind behind all of the Dark Menon Forces. Opa-Opa had split into two sides after the events of the battle 10 years ago (FZ 2 takes place 10 years after the first game). O-Papa only joined to stay with his son.
Super Fantasy Zone[]
Dark Menon Forces attack again and O-Papa tries to defend everyone but dies in the process... Opa-Opa sees him for the last time and decides to get revenge on Menon and succeeds.
